Working on Sitting with Big Sister

100_9735I just had to post these quick pictures of Makayla and Mason from the other day.  She is such a little mommy sometimes and was working with Mason on some of his physical therapy.  Homeschooling is a blessing in so many ways.  This is one!  All of Mason’s siblings are here and participate in his physical therapy appointments.  Then they can help us with the daily and several times daily physical therapy sessions we need to do.  They think it is fun and he loves the attention from some of his favorite people.

They are developing deep sibling relationships and are the best of friends, most days.  They have their moments, like any siblings, but they truly are friends as well as brothers and sisters.

Being here and involved in the medical aspects of Mason’s life is just another way homeschooling immerses children in real life too!  They see what real, daily life is like.  They meet and interact with doctors, nurses, hospital staff, professionals, and people of all ages on a day to day basis.  It’s a much better learning opportunity than sitting in age-segregated public school classrooms every day.  I can’t wait to see Mason grow up and learn through homeschooling as well!  100_9739He is getting stronger and starting to hold himself up unsupported for short periods of time.  Then a sibling runs past or makes a silly noise that distracts him and he loses his balance.  We always stay right there to catch him and help him get back into this sitting position.  Mason inspires me every day to do hard things!
