Today Mason had another appointment with the ortho clinic for his clubfeet. I remembered to bring my camera along so I was able to get a photo of his feet before they were covered again. For a refresher, here is a photo of Mason’s feet from 2 weeks ago, the day before his first set of casts: Here are his feet today after just 2 rounds of casts: Isn’t it amazing the difference? His feet are no longer turned inward at all! He’s done really well with the corrections. As a matter of fact Dr. K decided to go ahead and move Mason to the last set of casts before bracing, called holding casts. Here they are:
Mason will be in these casts for 3 weeks instead of 1. The day we go get them sawed off he will go to the orthotist/protestitian to get foot braces like this:
He’ll wear those braces 23 hours a day for 3 or 4 months, then less and less, working down to wearing them just when he sleeps. He’ll be in the braces for 2-5 years.
It’s been a huge blessing to see how well Mason has done through this process. I’m so grateful!
That is amazing! I am so glad this is working so well for Mason.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the other who commented. Beautiful feet, so pink and tiny. Lovely to see his progress. Great that he is doing so well he will get to skip some weeks of casts. Praising the Lord for this blessing. Marveling at the wonder of the human body and our wonderful Creator God.
