Getting Stronger with Physical Therapy

One of the easy tests for how Mason is progressing in the physical therapy we’re doing at home is to see if he’s strong enough to use the Bumbo seat.  It takes head, neck, chest, and abdomen working together to keep steady, and until recently I didn’t even consider trying it.  Mason just wasn’t ready.

100_8742Today I finally put him in the Bumbo.  He did great for about 8 minutes and loved the new perspective.  It’s great that he’s finally ready for short times in the Bumbo because it’s another way to keep him from adding to his head shape issues.  100_8743By the end he started leaning to the side a bit and his head was tilted back some engaging those extensors to keep his head up, so we popped him out of the Bumbo and into tummy time.  He wasn’t impressed with that idea…LOL. Needless to say I’ve just added daily Bumbo time to his PT regimen!
