Eyes

Mason had his first visit with the opthomologist today to check his eyes.  The Cranio-Facial Surgeon Dr. P wanted to make sure Mason’s plagiocephaly and his preference to look to one side id not vision-based.

The appointment took 2 hours.  There was an initial exam with flashing lights and other tools.  They checked eye pressure and made sure he doesn’t have glaucoma.  Then the nurse put drops in his eyes to dilate the pupils and sent us back to the waiting room.  Forty minutes later Mason had fallen asleep and they finally brought us back for the rest of the exam.  In typical Mason fashion he slept through it.  They opened his eyes, shined lights in them, and so on.

He realized they didn’t need his participation, so why wake up?

Silly boy.  He slept the whole way home too.

The Official Results:  Mason’s eyes work perfectly, all structures are intact and there is no swelling of nerves.  Yay!  One less thing to deal with!

  3. I am glad everything went well. My son has to go to a ophthalmologist annually, so I know how tough those appointments can be, but to think that one was probably a breeze to you compared to all the many, many other Dr visits. You are a strong woman and an inspiration to many. No wonder Heavenly Father trusted you with such a special spirit of His. I love both of your blogs!
